Ensemble Designs To Feature New Compact Clean Switching Router at Broadcast Asia
May 27, 2013 Grass Valley, California – Ensemble Designs will show its new BrightEye NXT 430 Compact Router at Broadcast Asia on Techtel’s stand 5J3-03. The next generation of the BrightEye product line, the new NXT router has an interactive LCD display, BNC and SFP connectors for flexible input and output configuration, cutting edge illuminated front panel buttons, and an Ethernet port for control and configuration. The new compact router is an excellent fit for broadcast, flypack OB and presentation applications.
The BrightEye Compact Router accepts 3G, HD and SD SDI signals. The user configures the number of inputs and outputs based on the facility needs. There are 2 fixed input BNCs, 2 fixed output BNCs and 7 assignable BNCs that you configure either as inputs or outputs. The two SFP cages can be populated with dual SFPs that have fiber optic or other connectors. SFPs gives maximum flexibility in combining electrical BNC outputs and fiber optic outputs. The flexible I/O configuration allows on the fly changes to the number of router inputs and outputs providing flexibility unparalleled in any compact router.
“This is what everyone is looking for in a compact video router,” said Mondae Hott, Director of Sales for Ensemble Designs. “The front panel LCD displays realtime, full motion video or diagnostics of the source you have selected. The clean switch option allows clean video and audio switching of all sources including those that are asynchronous. The internal test pattern generator provides bars without tying up router inputs. It’s genlockable and timeable. All of this in a compact package about the size of a CD box set.”
The reference BNC us used to genlocking the unit to house sync. Built in clean switches in the router allow use of asynchronous sources. Cameras without a reference can be fed to the router and clean switched. The unit can be controlled via the dedicated front panel buttons, or from a computer or iPad via the on-board web browser interface.
“I believe this is the worlds smallest router with this degree of functionality,” said John Pichitino, Technology Evangelist for Ensemble Designs. “It’s smart, flexible, easy to configure and contains features not seen on even high-end routing solutions.”
